One of Greenwich’s most beloved annual events has mouths and tails “wagging” every year since its founding in 1981. Puttin’ on The Dog is “a festival for pets and the people who love them.”
The festival host, adopt-a-dog.org, plans the family- and pet-friendly event each fall. This year, it will be held on Sunday, September 27, 2020, at Roger Sherman Baldwin Park in Greenwich.
At its core, this is a philanthropic festival that raises money for animal welfare, and pairs dogs and cats with forever families through pet adoptions. There are activities to keep every member of the family engaged all day long, especially kids, as well as a silent auction and owner-and-pet canine competitions for fun and sport.
Vendors flock to showcase their wares at Puttin’ on The Dog, and food trucks provide the culinary treats and beverages. For Greenwich residents, it’s a wonderful day that blends community and cause.
