Across Greenwich, the event of the year,” every year, is the Greenwich Town Party (GTP), a sell-out springtime fete in celebration of the town’s diverse neighborhoods, culture, and community.
It’s a day filled with music, fine food, and family-friendly events. It’s a gathering place to meet and mingle, and to discover local non-profit and sponsoring organizations. It’s also a day to recognize the Greenwich Town Party heroes – local residents, nominated by their peers, who help make Greenwich a truly special and safe place to live.
A highlight of the Greenwich Town Party each year is the annual auction, with coveted luxury goods, services, and experiences awarded to highest bidders. Proceeds help sustain the annual event, hosted by the non-profit organizer, with approximately 80% of the cost covered by sponsorships.
Foundational to the event is a stellar lineup of local performers and bands, as well as international megastars. Past GTP headliners have included Carlos Santana, Eric Clapton, Paul Simon, and the Dave Matthews Band. The 2020 event – May 23, 2020 – marks the Greenwich Town Party’s 10th anniversary. Headliners for this year’s event include Mumford & Sons, the Zac Brown Band, and the world-renowned Preservation Hall Jazz Band.
Tickets to the GTP are greatly sought after and are awarded by lottery.
Though it’s just a single day on the calendar each year, the town pride fostered at the Greenwich Town Party transcends the event and carries on long after the crowds have cleared.
