Tommy Mottola and Thalía selling 14th lavish home
Mottola and his wife are selling their Connecticut mansion.
Music industry exec Tommy Mottola and his wife, Mexican singer Thalía, are putting their Connecticut lakefront estate, which comes with its own private island, on the market for $15.5 million.
The property is in Greenwich and is the 14th residence that Mottola has designed and built, says Compass broker Robin Kencel, who is co-listing the property with Brian Milton. The nine-bedroom Georgian Colonial mansion is 12,368 square feet.

The couple bought the property, which at the time was a horse-riding facility, for $2.87 million in 2010.
It took about two years to construct the home and other structures, which sit on 5.7 acres of grounds with more than 4,000 plantings. The spacious main home features a great room with a beamed cathedral ceiling made from antique wood (some of which is more than 400 years old). There’s also a chef’s kitchen, a breakfast room and a three-level family room with floor-to-ceiling windows and lake views.
There’s also a gym, a massage room and a guest house with its own recording studio. Outside is a pool modeled after the one at the Delano hotel in South Beach and a footbridge that leads to the private island, which is around a quarter of an acre. “This is a magical setting for a modern home — it’s breathtaking,” Kencel says.
Mottola is ready to move on: He already has his sights set on his next home project, which will be nearby.
