Where Sport and Society Celebrate: Greenwich Polo Club

The Greenwich Polo Club is a beloved equestrian institution and the host of an annual Opening Day celebration and subsequent Sunday matches that bring out as many as 2,000 spectators each week. They come to the bucolic polo field at 1 Hurlingham Drive in backcountry Greenwich from across Fairfield and Westchester counties and New York City. Annually, the Club hosts thousands of players, fans, celebrities, and dignitaries from around the world.

Founded in 1981, the Greenwich Polo Club is home to the world-renowned White Birch Polo Team, with a record-winning history that includes the U.S. Open Polo Championship in 2005.

The polo field facility offers on-site catering by Palmer’s Darien and polo-inspired cocktails at the Pony Bar. Gourmet food trucks provide an array of culinary and beverage options during the Sunday matches. General admission and grandstand bleacher seating is available. Grandstand boxes, executive-level cabanas and VIP-experience packages make for extra-special occasions.

The 2020 Greenwich Polo Club season—the Club’s 40th anniversary—will soon be announced, with tickets available on April 1st.
